We are delighted that Anthony Robinson has agreed to join us in the role of Manager.
Anthony is an AAT qualified Accountant who has been working closely with Brookes Stephens and our clients for the last few years but has now decided to commit himself to us full time!
Anthony’s broad experience of accountancy and taxation matters will be a real asset to us and our clients.
Congratulations to Emily who recently passed her level 3 AAT qualification.
Emily is a much valued and very important part of the team and we are proud of her continued success.
The Brookes Stephens offices will be open but with only skeleton staffing on Friday 6th June.
Leon and the rest of the team will be travelling to Snowdonia to prepare for Saturday’s climb & will therefore be unavailable. Normal service will resume on Monday 9th June – wish us luck!
We are now just days away from our sponsored climb to the top of mount Snowdon & there is an air of excitement and a certain amount of nerves around the office!
We are delighted to say that fundraising is going well and we are very nearly at our initial target of £2,000.00 raised for Breast Friends Sutton Coldfield cancer care charity.
We are really grateful to our many friends and clients who have shown their support with good luck messages and donations & it would be fantastic to add a few more to the list of sponsors.
Please visit www.justgiving.com/cocklesclimbers to help us smash our target!
Brookes Stephens are proud to be members of the local business networking group BNI Elite, who hold their breakfast meetings at Moor Hall Hotel, Sutton Coldfield every Friday.
We are already benefiting from our membership of a group that has generated £980,000 worth of business in the last 12 months alone.
The group are holding a Visitors Day at Moor Hall on 20 June 2014 so anyone wishing to take the opportunity to grow their business should contact Leon Stephens to book a place.
Brookes Stephens were proud recipients of a ‘Highly Commended’ Professional Business of the Year Award at the Business Networking Awards 2014 which were held at Drayton Manor Hotel on Saturday.
We are very proud of this award and also two further ‘Highly Commended’ Awards received at the 2013 Award ceremony last year. We feel that these awards reflect our commitment to high professional standards and our clients’ interests.
Many thanks to those who nominated us, we hope to achieve more success at the Awards next year!
Emily Upton – PASSED!
Congratulations to Emily who has passed her Level 2 AAT examinations recently.
Emily joined us in December 2012 and has since become an integral member of team. We look forward to celebrating her further academic achievements in the years to come!
The night is almost upon us when we will find out who has been successful at the 2014 Business Networking Awards Ceremony.
The team at Brookes Stephens are excited to have been shortlisted in 3 categories: Most Professional Business, Best Established Business, and Employer of the Year, and are looking forward to a top evening celebrating the best of local business.
E-Approval is here to stay!
Brookes Stephens are technologically leading the way with our adoption of E-Approval as our preferred method of receiving client approval for tax returns and other documents.
In 2012 the practice introduced IRIS OpenSpace, an online cloud based solution, allowing clients to access documents 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This meant clients had easy access to documents and piece of mind that they were all safely backed up.
Now in 2014, we are extending our use of this system by using its functionality to request E-Approval from our clients. The system meets all of the legal requirements associated with electronic approval and will ensure that we remain at the fore front of technological advances in the accountancy world.
For our clients, it will make viewing and approving documents even easier – no more slaving over a scanner or finding that post box!
If you know any business or individual who would like to benefit from our new system then please contact Ann Pearsall on 01543 440336.
On Saturday June 7 colleagues & associates of Brookes Stephens will be attempting an ascent of Mount Snowdon, the highest peak in England & Wales.
We wanted to show our support for one of our number, Amanda Cockle, who has bravely undergone treatment for breast cancer following the shock of her diagnosis last year at the age of just 33.
Months of planning and preparation are going into our Snowdon Challenge – all to raise money for a very special charity, Breast Friends of Sutton Coldfield, who have been chosen by Mand in recognition of the invaluable support they have provided to her and hundreds other local women.
Our team members are a wide spread of ages and abilities and the Snowdon climb will present a very real challenge to us as a group. Donations will be very gratefully received by us, by the charity, and by those who benefit from their work, now and in the future.
